Description : Greet and treat guests with a positive attitude. Look and act professionally. Student MAY work as Front Desk,Housekeeping, Events Coordinator, Laundry, and Coffee Bar. Student must be flexible to do all duties when required. Shift will vary each week. The students level of English will determine which job they will be placed in. Housekeeping involves cleaning and maintaining the grounds, and guest rooms, changing linens and doing laundry. Events Coordinator will be in charge of hostel events.**Must have advanced English. Students will work at one of the NYC locations which include Jazz on the Park, Jazz on Lenox, Jazz on Amsterdam Ave, and Chelsea Highline Hotel.
Possibility to find a second job in the area: yes. The opportunity of second job is possible, but student must have to manage this according to their schedule at Jazz Hostels. They must understand that Jazz Hostels is their priority and their second job cannot conflict with their schedule at Jazz Hostels.
Additional information: Students will work 4 shifts a week. Shifts will be 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, or 12am-8am.
The Front Desk Agent should possess exceptional oral communication skills, should be enthusiastic about international travel, and have an interest in working in hospitality or customer service. Fluency in English, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and a “self-starter” attitude are “must have” skills. Knowledge of other languages, reservation software, and sales a plus.
